The JJJ Wilderness Ranch is a family owned and operated guest ranch located 100 miles south of Glacier National Park on the eastern front of the Rocky Mountains. The Barker family has shared this western experience for over two decades to a limited number of guests each season. Not being too big allows us to get to know our guests on a first name basis. With over 70 head of mountain savvy quarter horses suited to all riding levels, there are unlimited riding opportunities. The famous Bob Marshall Wilderness is a short horseback ride away. The week begins with horsemanship instruction, and daily activities are planned with you, allowing for flexibility. The end of the week is highlighted by an overnight pack-trip. Our Kiddie Wrangler can assist the youngsters in horsemanship, explorative nature hikes, crafts, swimming in the pool and much more. Out of the saddle, you can enjoy fly fishing instruction on the ranch ponds to whet your appetite for fishing Rainbow, Cutthroat, or Brown Trout on the Sun River or Gibson Lake, just 5 minutes from the ranch. Guided interpreted tours, non technical mountain climbing, endless hiking opportunities, and wildlife watching provide relaxation and excitement. Western cookouts and evening campfires with authentic cowboy poetry and singing assure a relaxing end to a busy day at the JJJ. The ranch has six separate cabins nestled among the spruce and the aspens that sleep 2 to 6. All meals are hearty, & wholesomed and served family style in our lodge. Expect lots of homemade goodies with plenty of fresh foods. Fully outfitted horse pack trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness are also available.
